Safety & Fire Protection

Great Power designs energy storage systems to recognized fire-protection and ingress-protection standards. Compliance with NFPA 855, UL 9540A, and IEC 62619 ensures safe deployment in populated and industrial environments. Systems feature AI fire prediction, aerosol suppression, and water immersion sensors. Zero safety accidents recorded across projects in 50+ countries.

NFPA 855 Compliance

Containerized and cabinet-based ESS architectures are dimensioned against NFPA 855 provisions for stationary energy storage system installation. Design parameters include siting separation distances, ventilation requirements, detection protocols, and suppression coverage. Compartmentalization limits thermal-runaway propagation. Emergency-response access points align with standard permitting packages. Integrators reference a compliant baseline for regulatory submission.

Aerosol Suppression Technology

Enclosures provisioned for aerosol-based active suppression. Generators deliver fine potassium-carbonate particles that interrupt combustion chemistry at the cell level. Extinguishes lithium-ion fires without water damage or residual liquid. Multi-stage detection triggers locally within affected modules: temperature monitoring, voltage deviation analysis, and gas sensing. Adjacent compartments isolated to limit propagation. AI fire prediction algorithms identify precursors before thermal runaway initiates.

Ingress Protection Ratings

Outdoor cabinets and containers rated IP55 as standard. Dust-protected operation; resistance to low-pressure water jets from any direction. Selected configurations reach IP67. Sustains temporary immersion and heavy condensation typical of coastal, mining, and telecom sites. Battery packs independently rated IP67. Ratings verified through third-party testing. Recorded per product family.
